We were so impressed by Spella Caffè’s incredible coffee we reached out to Andrea Spella and offered to carry it at DeLaurenti.

Raised above his grandmother’s European bakery in Chicago, Andrea knew espresso as the thick stuff brewed on a stovetop and enjoyed with pastry after school. This treasured childhood ritual, steeped in old-world tradition, isn’t far from the espresso experience Andrea has cultivated over the past ten years in his Portland caffè.

Andrea has developed strong relationships with family-owned coffee farms and co-operatives in India, Latin America, and Africa. This enables him to consistently bring in the highest quality beans. He roasts the beans in small batches, just eleven pounds at a time. This roasting method brings out the unique, inherent qualities of each variety and allows him to find the sweet spot of each batch.

Rossalina Espresso has a thick, lush body, full of crema. It has nutty, caramel tones with a healthy amount of licorice and anisette.

Guatemala Monja Blanca is an incredibly thick and rich cup of coffee, with juicy notes of plum & blackberry, sweet pastry, and deep dark chocolate. Perfect for French press, cold brew, or pour-over.

Decaf Espresso has hints of caramel and chocolate. It goes through a gentle, chemical-free decaffeination process that removes the buzz but leaves all the gorgeous coffee flavor in this bean. You won’t believe it’s decaf!
