    Momofuku at DeLaurenti

    When David Chang opened Momofuku Noodle Bar in New York City in 2004, few would have predicted the impact the ramen house would have. Now, with restaurants across the United States and in Canada, Momofuku has been credited by the New York Times with “the rise of contemporary Asian-American cuisine” and named the “most important restaurant in America” by Bon Appétit magazine. Chang is also a creative force behind “Ugly Delicious,” an eight-part Netflix original documentary series about foods we love and the stories that shape them.

    Bold and delicious flavors are a big part of what made Momofuku so influential. Momofuku recently released a line of restaurant-grade goods to help you add brash, mouth-watering flavor to your table at home. At DeLaurenti, we’re carrying their Soy Sauce, Tamari, Seasoning Salts, two flavors of their Chili Crunch, and all three flavors of their noodles.

    Momofuku’s Chili Crunch is made with three different Mexican chilis (Pulla brings a bright fruitiness; Chili de Arbol adds a nutty smokiness; Japones chiles closes with a lingering spiciness), crispy garlic and shallots, sesame seeds, and a little coconut sugar for a gentle sweetness to balance the flavors. For those who like it hot, we’re also carrying their Extra Spicy Chili Crunch, which adds fiery habaneros to the mix.

    Momofuku’s Seasoned Salts (Savory, Tingly, Spicy) are loaded with the same umami-rich ingredients Momofuku uses in their restaurants. Substitute them for salt and pepper in your home recipes to level up your cooking.

    Their tamari is made from organic ingredients and steeped with kombu to unlock a world of depth and flavor. Their kombu-steeped soy sauce is a richer, rounder soy sauce with complexity, not just saltiness. It’s lovely on braised meats, marinades, and classic uses such as sushi.

    And for those looking for a quick meal, Momofuku’s noodle dishes combine the convenience of packaged noodles with the restaurant-level flavor that Momofuku is known for. The air-dried noodles cook in four minutes, and the prepared sauces have an outstanding balance of savory and spicy flavor. Most instant ramen is made with fried noodles, but Momofuku’s slow, air-drying method creates a healthier, better-tasting noodle with more protein. We’re carrying three flavors: Spicy Soy, Soy and Scallion, and Tingly Chili Wavy. The Spicy Soy noodles come with a punchy sauce made from soy sauce, chili, and sesame oil. The Soy and Scallion noodles come with a rich sauce made from soy sauce and sesame oil, and a package of dried scallions. Their Tingly Chili Wavy Noodles come with an aromatic sauce made from chili paste, Sichuan spices, and sesame oil.
